What are good add-on sales for a cafe? Eg. the Maccas "You want fries with that?" Increase sales?
I work at a pick-your-own fruit farm and cafe as front of house and waitress, so the store sells jams, liqueurs, fudge, chutneys etc. We have a cafe which serves light lunches.
Recently I've started asing customers if they'd like their coffees in a cup or mug/short or tall glass, and find 90% of the time they'll say mug (an extra 50c).
I was trying to work out other ways to introduce add on sales?
Each morning, pick something that you want to add-on.
Once your customers have ordered say something like:
"Excellent choices (smile and wink)... have you ever tried our tasty _________? I highly recommend it, would you like to add one to your order this morning?"
Do this EVERY time, you will get plenty of "No" answers, but you'll get lots of "Yes". Try it out.
