does liquid stay hot longer in a tall narrow mug, or a shorter wider mug?

Let's say a cup of coffee. if I pour twelve fluid oz of coffee in a mug. would it stay hot longer in a short/wide mug or a tall/skinny mug (if it is different at all)? Thanks!

Assuming the containers are made of the same material and conduct heat the same as air, the one with the greater surface area will radiate heat faster.

Taller and thinner and shorter and wider are relative.

To check for surface area of a cylinder:

Surface Area = Areas of top and bottom +Area of the side

Surface Area = 2(Area of top) + (perimeter of top)* height

Surface Area = 2(pi r 2) + (2 pi r)* h

Higher surface area= radiates (loses) heat faster Surface area includes the sides and even bottom of the container too.
