Need help with carpet and wall color choices?

I'm in the process of moving into a new apartment, and I'm putting down new carpet and painting the walls in the living room.

I have a natural colored loveseat and two natural chairs from Ikea, black-brown coffee table and side tables and a black TV stand. I was thinking a brown carpet (not too dark) with a light beige for the walls. Perhaps some red accents for color. How does that sound?

I'm a 28-year-old single guy, so I'm not looking to make the color scheme look too old fashioned, so I just wanted some ideas from you guys. Thanks.

I think you know what you are doing! This plan you have, sounds excellent. Staying neutral on the walls, furniture and flooring is always a good plan. Your accessories can add the extra "punch" of color you are looking for. You can use any style and color of prints to hang on your walls, since it is neutral. Metal art, for the wall, is popular right now, and usually those are brown or brown with a little bit of blue or green, so that is an option for you. Good luck!!! And congrats on the new apartment.
