How to make caramel/raspberry syrup?
i am gettin into tryin to make different kinds of coffee and some of the "best drinks" require a flavored syrup. the 2 i want are caramel and raspberry. i only have raspberry jam, so can i still make it. and what are the recipes or whatever (i hear making caramel is very dangerous?)
I have a recipe to make a simple form of caramel syrup for your drinks. You can use either white or brown sugar but start with white sugar if you're new, cuz then it's easier to detect when the sugar starts to melt and turn brown.
You will need approximately 2:1 ratio of sugar:water, depending on how much sauce/syrup you require.
1. Warm the saucepan over medium heat.
2. Pour 10 tbsp of sugar into the saucepan, let it sit and melt.
3. Stir the melting sugar with a wooden spoon.
4. When it starts to turn brown and look a little like honey, remove the saucepan from the heat.
5. Add 5 tbsp of water in, while continuing to stir.
6. Let the caramel cool and you're done!
