I doubt the quality of coffee made in coffee makers...?
The water passes through the cone full of coffee and drips into bowl.
But the coffee doesnt have time to mix with the water and add flavour. Therefore, even the colour of resulting coffee is not thick. Thats my theory.

When the water in a coffee maker is being suctioned into the bowl where the coffee grounds are, the water fills up the bowl. It doesn't just trickle right through, or else the whole coffee filter wouldn't be wet when you are done. So, therefore, the water is mixing with the coffee grounds. Try pulling out the bowl where the grounds are once when the coffee is brewing and see what happens. Be careful, though, it will be hot and you do not want to get burned, because it will be HOT.
