Anyone work at Caribou Coffee as a team member or shift supervisor?
Do you enjoy working at Caribou? I just got offered a job as a team member, but the store manager asked why I was applying to an hourly wage job when I have a college degree (graduated one year ago) I thought that was kind of rude of him to say that. The job market is really bad right now and I can't find a decent paying job in my field. But the other manager was nice.
Never worked at Caribou, but it is a question I have been asked before.
A lot of that, considering your educational background, is to evaulate your goals. Do they see someone who is "management material", or someone who is just looking for a temporary job until something better comes along.
Some of the interviewers are afraid of their jobs also, or their friends jobs. They see someone with an education and motivation, that may catch the attention of higher ups, therefore they fear that someone might get their job. Been there and DONE that!
To be honest, now that you know you might get asked questions on this level, be prepared next time to turn the tables on them. Tell them that you did your research on the company, and see potential with them. Very few people are going to say, "we are a lousy company to work for." BS them, you know what I'm saying?.
